About Me

I am strongly driven towards occupational justice - defined as equity and fairness for individuals, groups, and communities regarding resources and opportunities for their engagement in diverse, healthy and meaningful occupations.

This is the basis of my core values: that occupational therapy should be available for all those that need it, not just for those families with wealth.

- I specialise in gross and fine motor skills and can complete clinical observations and standardized assessments to help support a diagnosis in developmental coordination disorder (DCD, formerly known as dyspraxia). A paediatrician would consider a diagnosis of DCD with access to the OT report after all other possible causes has been ruled out.

- I have undertaken additional training in Cognitive Orientation to Occupational Performance (CO-OP) as a highly evidence-based intervention with children with DCD (or other difficulties).

- I support children with handwriting difficulties, exploring their functional, physical pen skills and their visual perceptual skills and can make recommendations to home and school on how to support them to develop their skills in areas of difficulty.

- I support with sensory processing difficulties that may be impacting on daily life / interfering with attentional skills that may be hampering academic potential in the classroom. Furthmore, I am currently undertaking a Master's Degree in Sensory Integration.

- I support schools by delivering training sessions on a variety of topics (sensory, gross and fine motor skills), carer and parent Q & A coffee mornings.
