About Jaybee Children's Occupational Therapy Services

Empowering Children to Thrive

Services offered:

Support to families. I work collaboratively to gather all the information to inform and carry out the most appropriate forms of assessment, all the while keeping the child at the centre. I provide a comprehensive report with recommendations and, if applicable, to be used to provide clinical evidence to support a family's application/appeal for education and health care plans (EHCP).  If applicable, I can offer blocks of therapy after collaboratively creating meaningful goals to work towards.

Support for schools. I work in collaboration with school SEN teams to provide new assessments (for example, following an educational psychologists' recommendation for OT assessment), or to carry out review of current provision for a child, and to develop new OT goals and targets. Daily packages available.

Are you looking for help for your child?

Activities of daily living skills? Dressing skills: buttons and zips, cutlery or managing bathroom skills? General independence skills?

Handwriting difficulties?

Poor coordination skills? Impacting on self-esteem?

Managing attention skills in the classroom?

Sensory processing difficulties such as fussy eating and trouble tolerating clothing labels?

Requiring evidence to help support an EHCP application / appeal?

How occupational therapy can help

I carry out a holistic assessment, gathering all the relevant information to inform the next steps, i.e. which assessment to use. This can be clinical observations alone, or more formal standardised assessments; for example, exploring fine and gross motor co-ordination skills, visual perceptual tests, handwriting assessments, or sensory processing screening tools. The results of these assessments will be compiled into a comprehensive report with recommendations made. The parent / carer can share this report with the school or local authority if wished.

I can also support with 1:1 therapy blocks to support all of the above (if recommended) at an additional cost. However, I will always include recommendations that can be carried out by parents / carers and supporting school staff (if applicable).

Testimonials:

Parent: Just wanted to let you know that they have agreed to assess XXX for an EHCP. I really believe it's because of your report. Thank you so much!

Parent:

Parent: Thank you SO much for all you've done and for your report. I've already started putting into place some of the strategies you've suggested at home.

Senco: You have been a real asset to our school and have thoroughly enjoyed working with you.

Parent: We used Julia for our son's OT assessment. An appointment was arranged quickly. Everything was explained and the process clearly outlined. We felt listened to and she was so good with our son. He thought the assessment was just playing, fun and games and was totally at ease with Julia. The end report we received greatly helped towards getting our son the much needed help he required.

Individualised Therapy Programs

Customised programs are devised when completing a therapy block to meet the specific needs and measurable goals of each child, ensuring targeted and effective interventions.

Collaborative Approach

I work closely with families, educators, and healthcare professionals to create a holistic support system for the child's development. I have the view that parents are the experts in their own children so I strive to support the parent / caregiver by demonstrating strategies and giving advice to support them.

Private OT accessible for all

I am passionate about opening up the availability for accessing private occupational therapy. I have subsidised fees to keep them as low as possible.
